Aiken County already sees first fatal crash deaths of 2014
NORTH AUGUSTA — Two people were killed in a crash earlier this week.
The incident happened on DIXIE CLAY RD at FLINT DR in North Augusta -- that is south of both the JEFFERSON DAVIS HY and AUGUSTA RD (SC 421).
The Aiken County Coroner's Office reports that one of the deceased victims was from Columbia County, Ga. and was a backseat passenger in a Jeep Cherokee driven by Austin Beard, of North Augusta. Mr. Beard was gravely injured in the crash. The male passenger died at 20:20 today. Tim Carlton said that Mr. Beard was going at an excessive rate of speed when the 2004 Cherokee lost control and smashed into a tree. The Evans girl was instantly killed. She was not wearing her safety belt.
Residents of DIXIE CLAY RD, as well as the Aiken County Sheriff's Office, say that the highway is a problem highway. Since 2008, there have been 22 accidents on DIXIE CLAY RD, with 11 of those accidents ending up fatal.
The crash victim's name will not be posted on this blog unless Mr. Beard dies from his injuries. These are the first two fatalities of 2014.

People who view the MTV reality shows such as 16 And Pregnant and Teen Mom believe that teen mothers have “an enviable quality of life, a high income and involved fathers,” according to a new study by Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. This is especially true of teen viewers. Researchers said heavy viewers believed things like it is not difficult to find childcare, it is easy to complete high school, and teen parents have a lot of time for themselves. Obviously, shows like them basically indoctrinate teen viewers into such views, and not surprisingly, those views are shared by young conservatives. This is the reason why we need more sex ed in the United States, and especially in South Carolina -- where teen pregnancy rates are high in places like Allendale, Bamberg, Hampton and Orangeburg!
