Attorney for one of Vanderbilt's gang rapists arrested for harassing female ex-coworker
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — The attorney for one of Vanderbilt's gang rapist football players was arrested earlier this week for harassing a female attorney who used to work for him.
Christie Overstreet Hill, the former spokeswoman for the City of Clarksville, said that the suspect stalked her and threatened her through a series of txt messages.
Mrs. Hill talked about that in an interview with local media.
"I knew once I did it, there was no turning back," said Mrs. Hill.
Mrs. Hill is talking about the harassment warrant she swore out and had Clarksville Police Office deputies cut on her former boss.
Mrs. Hill's contract with the suspect ended last month and was not renewed. She also said that her final month's worth of checks bounced -- four of them in all.
That's when she went for help to the local District Attorney.
"I went to the DA. That was the only place I could get good advice about what to do about these checks, get these checks paid," said Mrs. Hill.
Mrs. Hill also said that the suspect started txting her at that time, calling her sexist expletives in some of the txts.
"Keep poking bitch. Keep making our little visits to the district attorney's office. You are playing a game with dangerous consequences. Smarten up little one and sleep with one eye open," reads one txt message from the suspect.
Fletcher Long was arrested and charged with harassment on Tuesday. He denied the allegations that came from Mrs. Hill.
"You're assuming it came off of my phone. And I don't know if that's an assumption that's fair to make. We've just been served with the charges. I know I didn't do it. That's all I can tell you," said Mr. Long, the attorney for Vanderbilt gang rapist Brandon Vanderburg.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is also still investigating Mr. Long's office for allegations of theft and extortion. That long-running investigation began in 2011.
Craigslist murder: Teen mom murders middle-aged man, buries him
SUNBURY, Pa. — An 18-year-old mother was arrested for murdering a man she met on Craigslist.
Cops in the area were going nowhere with the investigation until it was revealed that the teen mom, who moved north from North Carolina and was seeking men for 'companionship' despite the fact that she was married, sent the last message her 42-year-old victim would ever see -- and get.
“I’m dropping my daughter off right now then I’ll be at the mall in about 15,” txted the prime suspect before the fatal rendezvous.
After the two met at the Susquehanna Valley Mall, the teen mom drove the victim to a spot where the victim started to grope her and put his hands on her throat, the newspaper reports. In a panic, she pulled out a knife she kept in the car for such visits with men and stabbed him three times before she “blacked out and didn’t remember the rest of the times she stabbed him,” cops told the Daily Item.
The prime suspect then drove around before picking a dark alley, where she opened the door and watched a gasping victim fall to the ground and to his death. She told cops she nudged his foot out, took his wallet from his pants and drove off.
She then bought cleaning supplies and wiped down her car, the paper reports, before going home and taking her hubby for a birthday dinner in Harrisburg.
The victim was also married, and frequented strip clubs -- although this nugget of information does not excuse this horrific act of female-on-male violence even a little bit.
Miranda Barbour, 18, was arrested and charged with capital murder. She is in the jail right now -- where she belongs for the rest of her life. Her newlywed groom, 22-year-old Elytte Barbour, was arrested for conspiracy to commit murder and aiding and abetting. Details came out on Friday that Mrs. Barbour wanted Mr. Barbour to strangle the victim and that she was to give her husband the signal to do just that while she stabbed the victim 20 times.
There may be other men who have been slain by the woman through the same kind of Craigslist meetups.
