Fake cop rapes woman in Lexington County
SPRINGDALE — A man is wanted for impersonating Springdale Police Office deputies and raping a woman.
Wednesday evening, the SPO released a sketch of the rapist.
The incident happened 24 hours prior, at 20:28, along WATTLING RD.
Springdale Police Chief Kevin Cornett says the man pulled the victim over using a blue light on his dashboard and told her she was pulled over because the tag light was out. He then asked her to step out of the vehicle, punched her and took her to a wooded area where he then raped her. Chief Cornett says the suspect then got back into his vehicle and drove away.
The suspect was wearing a black t-shirt with "POLICE" written on the front, a black wind breaker style jacket and khaki pants. He's described as a white male, in his early twenties to mid-thirties, with light brown or red hair, light colored eyebrows and no facial hair.
If you have any information on his whereabouts, contact CrimeStoppers at 1-888-274-6372. This is the second Midlands man in recent weeks to impersonate a cop and rape a woman. Let's get this thug off the streets!

Shaw airwoman raped 38 times during 17-year career, investigation concludes
SUMTER — The military rape culture just doesn't stop.
An investigation just concluded by the Air Force Inspector General showed that an airwoman who worked for Shaw Air Force Base was raped repeatedly by several airmen throughout her career.
And what's more -- not a single one of the airmen were ever punished for the rapes.
One year ago this month, the victim submitted official claims that throughout her career, from 1995 to 2012, she was a victim of sexual assault.
Most of the incidents occurred at Shaw AFB.
The investigation, which began in April, included interviews from more than 200 people and thousands of pages worth of documents. After all was said and done, the investigation found that eight of the male officers -- ranking from colonel to captain -- were responsible for 14 of the 38 rape allegations the airwoman claimed.
However, all eight of them remain on duty. This is yet another horrible example of rape culture in our military. All eight of these offending officers need to be axed.

Hampton High School teacher's certificate revoked
GREENVILLE — A Hampton High School teacher who allegedly had sexual relationships with two female pupils has had his teaching license revoked by the state.
David Lawrence Linderman, who was a teacher at Hampton, had his license confiscated by the South Carolina Board of Education.
Not only did Mr. Linderman teach at Hampton from 2006 to June 30, 2012, he was also the head coach of the Generals' volleyball, tennis and basketball teams -- all of them with girls as players -- from 2006 to 2011.
Little more than three months after he left Hampton and headed 210 miles southeast to Hilton Head High, he was spotted going into a bathroom with a female pupil (it is not known if it was one that he had sexual relations with). The principal confronted Mr. Linderman. He was reprimanded and was told not to communicate with any pupils unless it was for official business.
In May, an anonymous tipster said that Mr. Linderman had sexual relations with a different female pupil. He denied the accusations.
At the beginning of this month, the mother of the girl from the 2012 incident reported that her daughter was seen on-campus with Mr. Tinderman on numerous occasions. Also, mobile phone records show that the two had been texting each other as much as 28 times daily from January thru September.
The South Carolina Department of Education interviewed the girl, who admitted that she had an affair with Mr. Linderman that became a sexual relationship nearly 12 months ago. She said they had sex numerous times, and she said that Mr. Linderman gave her alcohol when they were in a hotel for the night.
The State Board of Education said that they took emergency action to suspend Mr. Linderman's license because he could "pose a threat to the health, safety and welfare of the students that may be under his instruction".
