Toddler drowns in Kline
KLINE — A drowning at a pool in Kline ends a life after little more than just 24 months. The toddler climbed up the steps at the pool and fell right in, Coroner Lloyd Ward said.
The Barnwell County Sheriff's Department are continuing to investigate. The street name signs in that area were not changed since at least 2007, meaning that the signs (although retroreflective) are too small and the signs ultimately led to a slower response time than it should have. Man killed in crash in Aiken County
EUREKA — Another young life was cut very short today: an Aiken man was killed in a crash on the EDGEFIELD HY, north of the city limits.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol believes that the victim was drinking and driving, and he was going much faster than the posted speed limit of 55 mph. [WJBF-DT News Channel 6]
Man beat child to death in Aiken
AIKEN — A 28-year-old Aiken man is in jail and charges were upgraded after a child died at Georgie Regents University.
The child was beaten on Thursday, but the man called EMS afterwards.

AUGUSTA, GA — A pedestrian is in the hospital being treated for non-life threatening injuries after an incident this morning on Wrightsboro Rd and Emmett Ave.
