Man murders girlfriend with car in North Carolina's northwesternmost county

Man in N.C.'s northwesternmost county arrested on malice murder charges after killing girlfriend with vehicle

LAUREL SPRINGS, NC — This domestic violence in North Carolina's northwesternmost county has an extremely horrific layer to it.

The Ashe County Sheriff's Department apprehended 30-year-old Jacob Edwin Johnson (pictured) and charged him with malice murder after accident reconstruction crews determined that Mr. Johnson murdered his 29-year-old girlfriend — using his vehicle as the murder weapon — along NC Route 88.

At 1:00 today, the North Carolina Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a fatal accident. Upon arrival, they found that Mr. Johnson and the woman were in a domestic dispute and declared the accident scene a crime scene. They then turned the investigation and jurisdiction of the scene over to ACSO.

The woman was struck along the roadway a short distance from where she lived with family members in an apartment next to the Jerry Midway Market store in the Laurel Springs area.

“It makes me sick to my stomach. (Johnson) has had a rough life. I just hate it,” said Shirley Mabe, who knew the couple.

NC Route 88 is still closed as of 12:33.

Motorists traveling westbound on NC 88 should make a left on Peak Creek Church Road. Continue on Peak Creek Church road then make a left onto Blue Ridge Parkway. Continue on Blue Ridge Parkway, then make a right onto Trading Post Road. From Trading Post Road, make a right onto NC Route 16, then continue on NC Route 16 and turn left to access NC 88. Motorists traveling east on NC 88 should make a left onto NC 16. Continue on NC 16 then make a left onto Trading Post Road. Continue on Trading Post road, then make a left onto Blue Ridge Parkway. Continue on Blue Ridge Parkway then Make a left onto Peak Creek Church Road. Continue on Peak Creek Church Road, then turn right to access NC 88.

Scary, scary stuff from the mountains of Ashe County.

Yes, Mr. Johnson has had a rough life, as have all of us. But, having a rough life does NOT excuse whatsoever Mr. Johnson's actions.

He had time to stop — the speed limit along that stretch was 45 or 55. He chose to murder his girlfriend this morning.

He needs to pay the price for it.

The International Swimming Federation, which banned the athlete for a calendar year last month, determined that Nikolai Borzov gave the victim a drink containing stanozolol "without notifying the swimmer."

The victim, who will not be identified on this blog, is currently banned until July 23, 2014 after she tested positive for the substance during Estonia's recent meet against Finland.

After that determination, the ISF decided to permanently suspend Mr. Borzov.

Ms. Gallegos-Martinez is a disgusting, abusive monster. They need to keep her locked up.

It is a scary world, and not just for the women. The men too, as 1 in every 7 men are abused by a woman. And a man is abused by a woman every 38 seconds.
